FC Arizona Faces Top Team in NPSL Conference Play

Tonight FC Arizona faces Riverside Coras in a match up that could put our boys in the top spot in the NPSL Southwest Conference.

With 6 games played each, Riverside currently sits on top of the board with 6 wins. FC Arizona hasn’t lost a match in their inaugural season with a record of 5-0-1. Arizona edges out Riverside in goals, 19 to 17. However, don’t count on fireworks on the pitch tonight. Only 3 goals have been allowed between them this year. FC Arizona allowed only one goal in their 4-1 win over Sports Club Corinthians USA on April 15th.

Tonight is the only meeting of the top two teams, so our boys need a win to put the standings into their control. The importance of tonight’s match up isn’t lost on owner Scott Taylor. “I think it will be a great challenge. I know Aidan and the boys have a plan,” says Taylor.

Come on out to John D Riggs Stadium at Mesa Community College and watch as FC Arizona puts their plan into action. This writer is predicting the home pitch energy will boost FCAZ to a big win over the travelers. I’m calling it for the Red Lions, 3-1.

FC Arizona remains undefeated with a 1-1 draw against Riverside Coras. The buzz on social media is that the home team played a better, cleaner game and that some bad calls weighed heavily on the outcome.
